Duties: Leads technical application development and maintenance of mainframe based claims systems and related interfaces. Assumes technical ownership for the implementation of FEP Software Releases. Conducts impact assessments and develops technical requirements for local system modifications. Performs code reviews and test plan reviews to ensure quality of application development. Takes ownership of the work request process assisting in the assignment, design, development, and implementation process for enhancement and maintenance requests of mainframe application systems. Works closely with departmental management in assessing mainframe application systems to ensure the enterprise applications are well designed, developed, and supported. Assists management in review and approval of mainframe application changes in the Turnover Committee process. Works with departmental management to carry out tactical plans at the division/department levels that support our corporate strategic vision. Provides formalized, continuing work direction and leadership to an assigned team of applications programmers and systems analysts. Ensures that all production support policies and procedures are clearly defined and kept up-to-date. Works closely with business users to evaluate, recommend, and implement the proper technical solutions to enhance business value of operations. Participates in the after-hours on-call rotation for the Claims team.
