Job Overview

 

The Director, Market Sales will drive all retail sales of T-Mobile's wireless product & services portfolio within their defined Market with the goal to increase market share. This individual will be responsible for realizing the full potential of the T-Mobile brand through in-store sales and training efforts across assigned branded stores.

The Director will focus on sales strategies and tactics, including key initiatives such as leading sales growth and team performance within this critical Market. The Director will set vision and strategy to lead the growth of market share, and ensure retail sales teams are consistently providing an outstanding customer experience. The Director will identify and diagnose systemic financial and operational performance gaps, develop required corrective action plans, and execute on collaboratively established Sales KPIs.

Job Responsibilities:

 

Interpret corporate strategy and translate and communicate goals to a team of multiple District Managers

 

Drive T-Mobile goals and strategy to the 3rd party distribution with Senior Manager; work with TPR account managers through influence management and collaboration to meet corporate goals and strategy

 

Inspire leadership to create elite teams of customer service professionals that go the distance; continuously stay connected with the field through store visits

 

Develop Market-level financial and operational targets; manage financials for the portfolio of Markets and conduct regular assessments of Store and Market performance against financial targets

 

Build pride and motivation across the portfolio of Districts; drive teams, processes, and systems that efficiently and consistently deliver a top-notch retail experience for the customer

 

Deliver revenue, profit, and customer growth through district- and store-level P&L management; diagnose store performance issues through site visits and one-on-one conversations with District Managers and Store Managers; set operational and performance standards across Stores and Markets

 

Escalate relevant feedback to SVP and participate in strategy development; increase competitive port-ins and T-Mobile market share; enable the distribution of cutting-edge products and superior services that reflect T-Mobile's retail promise

 

Develop strong relationships with cross-functional counterparts in the field, including Human Resources, Loss Prevention, Customer Care, and Engineering, as well as centralized teams such as Marketing, Local Channel Management, Public Relations, and Corporate Operations and Training

 

Play a role in creating excellent store environments and selecting favorable locations; provide input to the SVP, Region Field Sales on Market opportunities and priorities for Store development

 

Assist the Headquarters Store Development team as requested; coordinate with cross-fun tional teams and Store Development on specific build-out issues

 

Evaluate merchandising and marketing strategy; implement and translate corporate-driven strategy; assess merchandising and marketing needs across the Market and escalate relevant feedback

 

Communicate the product and service line, as well as new products in development

 

Maintain keen awareness of demographic and wireless trends, as well as competitive threats, within the Market

Education and Work Experience:

 

Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

 

Master's/Advanced Degree (Preferred)

 

Must have 10+ years' experience in a Senior Field Sales leadership role leading a large and diverse retail organization with a proven track record of success (Required)

 

Experienced leading a large, multi-state region and/or populous city or major market (Required)

 

Experience inspiring, motivating, and managing commissioned employees (Required)

 

Must have experience working firsthand in a customer-facing sales role, either frontline retail or B2B sales (Required)

 

Demonstrated people development ability including a focus on developing emerging leaders (Required)

 

Possesses insight into the drivers of financial performance in the Market and understands store-level performance drivers (Required)

Base Pay Range: $176,200 - $238,400

Corporate Bonus Target: 25%

 

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
