Define and configure the Data and Reporting tools (SAS, WebFOCUS and Tableau) environment for optimal performance and utilization of the tools. Marinate and upgrade the data tools and environment to up to date as per the corporate guidelines. Report problems to the software vendors, provide requested documentation, and track the problems to resolution. Assist and participate in establishing and enhancing governance framework to enable efficiencies and standardization as per the best practices. Actively participate and support management in strategy planning and with implementation of documented enhancements. Assist Business Analysts and Business Intelligence Developers in designing, developing and implementing appropriate data business intelligence dashboards using efficient techniques, reusable code and web services as applicable. Develop alternative solutions as appropriate and review with the Data Management and Information Development teams. Develop and monitor procedures for the data & reporting tools environment proactively for any issues and addresses access and performance issues. Develop and enforce the coding standards and conventions. Prepare prototypes or proof of concept for common understanding and agreement and also prepare documentation in compliance with department standards. Assist in training users of new features and reporting tools environment. Collaborate with Server Administration in implementing and applying the appropriate server level updates including patches, upgrades, and performance improvements. Collaborate and assist Information Security in implementing appropriate security procedures with the new upgrades and enhanced reporting environment for both internal and external users. Develop/create data sources to connect to the databases to retrieve required data efficiently. Develop test cases and scripts, execute the test plans, and evaluate results. Analyze and resolve production problems as reported in the problem tracking system. Work with the Data Tool vendor companies to open, track close tickets for complex issues that are not resolved within BCBSMS.
