Duties of this position include:

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll, including input and mapping of new employees, terminations, changes, recording hours and reviewing benefits accrual hours.

  • Assists the Director in reviewing the prepared journal entry for each pay period, as well as preparing the required monthly salary accrual and expense reimbursement summary.

  • Main liaison with Finance team and the Payroll provider.

  • Assists the Director/ CFO in the calculations of PTO and ESB liabilities and corresponding journal entry.

  • Collects and processes Employee reimbursements, and maintains audit support.

  • Performs timecard analytics for additional pays as needed.

  • Prepares and/or assists in preparation of reports and schedules to be used for internal purposes and/or for audits by outside accountants.

  • Reconciles quarterly and annual payroll tax reports. Reviews required payroll tax reports on a timely basis in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local regulatory payroll filing and other requirements. Advises management on regulatory updates.

  • Implements and monitors electronic payroll service delivery, including but not limited to the following: 1) departmental reporting, 2) timesheet entry by department heads, 3) time clocks, 4) mobile applications for employee record access 5). Direct Deposit

  • Monitors and promotes the use of the payroll self-service portal on an annual basis, or as deemed appropriate by the Director.

  • Assists Finance department with the following duties as determined by the Director 990 preparation, audit support, as well as other external reporting.

  • Identifies and develops training opportunities in relation to payroll services.

  • Works closely with Human Resources to on all status changes impacting Payroll and related reporting.

  • Reviews payroll questions for employees, if and when they arise, in a timely and professional matter.

  • On an annual basis, evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the payroll work flow, processes, and procedures. Formulates and implements improvements derived from annual evaluations.

  • Builds and develops positive and collaborative working relationships with departments and team members throughout the Organization to ensure payroll is processed in an effective and timely manner.

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • On an annual basis, sets individual performance goals related to payroll function.

  • Uses technology where appropriate to carry out job duties.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Controller and or VP of Finance.

When determining a team member’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $109,000 annually.
