Firematic Supply Company Diesel Mechanic in Patterson, New York

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain refuse collection vehicles and related equipment. Perform skilled work on hydraulic systems, electric systems and heavy-duty truck components, packer bodies, automated side loaders, and lift systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure safe and reliable vehicle operation. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Up fitting new trucks with additional options [ i.e camera system, cart tipper, etc,.]
Maintain accurate service and repair records, and ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Collaborate with team members to support efficient shop operations.
This position reports to our Patterson, New York location.
REQUIREMENTS
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, emissions/after treatment systems, and heavy-duty truck components.
Experience with hydraulic systems, including compactors, packer bodies, and automated lift systems preferred.
Familiarity with PTO (Power Take-Off) systems and refuse truck operations a plus.
Valid Class B CDL with Air Brakes endorsement, or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
Working knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and inspections.
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems efficiently.
ASE and/or EVT certifications are a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
