Job Title: Production Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Production Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in supporting plant operations by maintaining, repairing, and improving industrial equipment and facility systems. This position partners closely with the Director of Operations to ensure machinery reliability, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe, efficient production environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical and fabrication skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair industrial equipment and facility systems.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to ensure machinery reliability and minimize downtime.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, boilers, gearboxes, plumbing, and conveyor systems.

  • Conduct welding and facility maintenance as necessary.

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and motor control issues.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, including lockout/tagout and confined space procedures.

  • Assist with after-hours or emergency maintenance as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with conveyance systems, including belts and rollers.

  • Familiarity with food processing or agricultural production environments.

  • Working knowledge of PLC systems for diagnostics and basic troubleshooting.

  • Understanding of preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining equipment in washdown or wet environments.

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout, and confined space procedures.

  • Experience or certification in operating forklifts, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with production, QA, and leadership teams.

  • Mechanical aptitude with a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement.

Work Environment

The production facility operates a shift from 7am-3:30pm, and during harvest, from 6am-4:30pm. You will lead the maintenance team and train a team member to assist with tasks. The role is demanding during the 10-month season, offering a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pasco, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
