Anderson Gardens Landscape Equipment Operator in Pascagoula, Mississippi
Anderson Garden is a premier garden center and professional landscaping company located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and reliable Landscape Equipment Operator to join our growing field operations team. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, prioritizes safety, and has hands-on experience operating heavy and light machinery for landscape installation and maintenance projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently operate landscaping equipment, including skid steers, mini-excavators, loaders, and commercial zero-turn mowers.
Perform precise site grading, trenching, and soil prep for landscape installations.
Load, transport, and distribute bulk materials such as stone, gravel, topsoil, and mulch.
Load and safely secure equipment on trailers for transport to and from job sites.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all machinery and vehicles.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment (greasing joints, checking fluids, cleaning filters).
Assist the landscape crew with manual labor and installation tasks when equipment operation is not required.
Adhere to all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of verifiable commercial experience operating landscaping heavy equipment (skid steers, loaders, excavators).
Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. (Experience driving trucks with heavy equipment trailers is heavily preferred).
Physical Requirements: Ability to routinely lift and carry 50+ pounds, work outdoors in various coastal weather conditions, and stand/walk for extended periods.
Skills: Strong understanding of grading, leveling, and site prep. Ability to follow detailed project plans and instructions.
Reliability: Must have reliable transportation to the shop in Gautier for early morning dispatch.
