Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Pasadena, Texas
Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Pasadena, Texas. This role requires a strong leader who can guide a team in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accounting management and a commitment to delivering reliable financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
• Establish and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Monitor and report on key performance metrics, providing benchmarks to measure the company’s financial performance.
• Lead the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, identifying and reporting significant variances to management.
• Develop and implement a cash flow projection process to ensure operational financial needs are met.
• Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support for annual audits.
• Manage tax filings, including property, sales, franchise, and use taxes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Negotiate and oversee the renewal of commercial insurance policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the organization’s financial goals.
Requirements
Requirements:
• Proven expertise in accounting and financial management, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial practices and regulations across all business operations.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with confidence in developing processes and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Ability to work in a seated position for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
