California Institute of Technology Postdoc: High-Performance Atomic Clocks in Pasadena, California
Responsibilities:
Conduct experimental research on atomic and ion-based clocks, including the design and operation of compact vacuum systems
Develop and implement precision measurement protocols to improve atomic clock performance
Collaborate with JPL scientists to integrate new clock technologies into ongoing mission campaigns
Document experimental procedures and maintain reproducible data and analysis records
Lead peer-reviewed publications and present research findings at scientific conferences
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Quantum Optics, or a related field
Strong experimental expertise in quantum optics, atomic, and ion-based clocks
Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and operating compact vacuum systems
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
The appointee will carry out research in collaboration withJPL advisor,
resulting in publications in the open literature.

by NASA. Postdoc positions are awarded for a minimum of one-year period and may be renewed up to a maximum of three years.
