AT&T Director-Network Access Construction & Engineering in Pasadena, California

As a Director-Network Access Construction & Engineering, you will lead and develop high-performing teams responsible for the end-to-end planning, design, construction, implementation, and optimization of 5G and Fiber Network infrastructure. Ensure seamless project execution, regulatory compliance, and adherence to company policies and industry standards. Drive continuous improvement through expert technical leadership, effective stakeholder collaboration, and efficient resource management across RAN, OSP, Fiber, and project management functions.
What you’ll do:
Team Leadership and Development : Oversee hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation of technical staff, including RAN engineers, Implementation Managers, OSP technicians, project managers; manage strategic relationships and vendor negotiations.
Network Planning and Technical Expertise : Lead planning, design, installation, and optimization of RAN and OSP infrastructure, providing expert consultation and managing contract resources; coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to implement advanced technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Project Management and Execution : Direct teams in the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of network construction and engineering projects, including copper removal and integration of fiber and mobility builds to optimize infrastructure.
Budget and Resource Management : Develop and manage project budgets, oversee capital expenditures, and ensure efficient allocation of financial and human resources; manage inventory, tool budgeting, procurement, and supplier coordination.
Compliance, Safety, and Standards : Ensure all activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies; conduct in-field safety and quality inspections and enforce safety protocols.
What you’ll bring:
Designing and executing strategies that support the overarching philosophy of the organization. Overseeing departmental programs and is often hands-on with the design and implementation of applicable strategies. Leading large teams, supervising supervisors as well as career-level staff within the organization. Influencing decisions regarding the hiring, firing, disciplinary action, promotional activity, and pay decisions for subordinates.
What you’ll need:
Required Experience:
10+ years of related experience.
Required Qualifications:
Experience leading both management and non-management (bargained) field teams
Strong financial acumen including ability to manage large capital investments.
Strong project management focuses on emphasizing timing and key deliverables.
Experience managing multiple vendors across the market and evaluating vendor performance in the field.
Experience creating strong, winning culture focused on teamwork, collaboration and integrity.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience using AI to create tools and efficiency for the team.

Environmental Requirements : This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
Our Director-Network Access Construction & Engineering earns between $210,600 - $316,000 annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
