United Parcel Service General Services Co. seeks Senior Software Development Engineer in Parsippany, NJ:Job Duties: Direct component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for software development initiatives to meet business requirements and ensure compliance. Advise and provide consultative support to exceed internal and external customers’ expectations. Develop and lead development project activities and integrations. Guide teams to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. Research and support the integration of emerging technologies. Provide knowledge and support for application development, integration, and maintenance tasks. Design and develop Mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Provide technical leadership by advising and supporting teams on best practices, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution, effective communication, and the achievement of technical objectives. Support the maintenance, enhancement, and troubleshooting of legacy mainframe systems while contributing to modernization efforts. Part-time telecommuting is an option. Hybrid work from UPS offices in Parsippany, NJ.Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.Special Skill Requirements: (1) Mainframe; (2) COBOL; (3) JCL; (4) CICS; (5) DB2; (6) TopazIDE; (7) Xpeditor; (8) FileAID; (9) Changeman; (10) IBM MQ; (11) SAVRS; (12) ESP Workload Manager; (13) SPUFI; (14) Java; (15) Spring boot; (16) Apache Camel; (17) Couchbase; and (18) AMQ.
