*Where You Will Work *

Our Henderson mine and mill are an hour drive apart – separated by the Continental Divide and a 15-mile conveyor system (10 miles underground). The Henderson mine is an underground molybdenum mining operation located approximately 42 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire. It has been in operation since 1976 and today consists of a large block-cave, underground mining complex feeding a concentrator with a current capacity of approximately 32,000 metric tons per day. It can produce approximately 15 million pounds of molybdenum per year. The Henderson mill is located 15 miles west of the mine, between Dillon and Kremmling.

Employees who are required to work on-site are eligible for a $1,450 monthly housing allowance, provided they meet program guidelines.

What You Will Do

  • Supervise, enhance and monitor designated engineering practices for the site.

  • Report environmental compliance issues and make recommendations to appropriate site management for correction.

  • Supervise or review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding planned engineering projects. Supervise or may serve as Project Manager or technical expert, on large/complex site construction, expansion or modification engineering projects.

  • Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations.

  • Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.

  • Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas.

  • Represent the site on Company sponsored steering teams, such as Freeport-McMoRan Environmental Steering Team.

  • Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and seven (7) years of experience in engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience, OR

  • Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline and five (5) years of experience in engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering.

  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.

  • Skilled in managing large/complex engineering projects.

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

  • Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management credentials (e.g., PMP , ScrumMaster ) are a plus.

  • Extensive experience leading leaders though the Project Management Process.

  • Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification.

  • Ability to define Mill site infrastructure strategy risks aligned to operational goals such as safety, throughput, uptime, and regulatory compliance.

  • Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary teams (Process automation, electrical and computer systems engineering, Tailings management, plant systems, etc).

  • Tailings management or tailings infrastructure project implementation is encouraged.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently  $116,000-$162,500 . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance.  Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration.  Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements.  More details will be shared during the hiring process.  Click here to view a sample of Total Rewards Estimate for this role.
