Job Description:
THIS IS A PART TIME ROLE (20 hrs/wk- mostly days/evenings, some nights needed, as well as weekend rotations)
Guides technicians and support staff, resolves customer service issues, and supports clinical staff education as needed.
Participates in the evaluation of new laboratory techniques and procedures. Assists with data collection and special projects as assigned.
Follows safety policies, including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling, and completes required training for handling hazardous waste.
Maintains current knowledge through written or electronic communication and accepts accountability for staying informed.
Performs various support activities to facilitate the operation of the assigned department or work area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Technical skills and aptitudes related to the laboratory testing, procedures, and processes performed in the department or work area assigned.
• Follows and ensures adherence of staff to the Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies; protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all times.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to varying priorities, including directing workflow with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain equipment/records and perform quality assessment activities.
• Ability to operate computer systems in order to maintain patient documentation, testing records, and other related documents.
Education:
• Associate's [Required]
Field of Study:
• Associate's in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution OR Successful completion of at least a 50-week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician); or qualified and served as high complexity testing personnel on or before April 24, 1995 in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December 28, 2024. [Required]
Work Experience:
• 1+ years clinical lab [Preferred]
