Job Description:

  • THIS IS A PART TIME ROLE (20 hrs/wk- mostly days/evenings, some nights needed, as well as weekend rotations)

  • Guides technicians and support staff, resolves customer service issues, and supports clinical staff education as needed.

  • Participates in the evaluation of new laboratory techniques and procedures. Assists with data collection and special projects as assigned.

  • Follows safety policies, including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling, and completes required training for handling hazardous waste.

  • Maintains current knowledge through written or electronic communication and accepts accountability for staying informed.

  • Performs various support activities to facilitate the operation of the assigned department or work area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Technical skills and aptitudes related to the laboratory testing, procedures, and processes performed in the department or work area assigned.

• Follows and ensures adherence of staff to the Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies; protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all times.

• Ability to work independently and adapt to varying priorities, including directing workflow with minimal supervision.

• Ability to maintain equipment/records and perform quality assessment activities.

• Ability to operate computer systems in order to maintain patient documentation, testing records, and other related documents.

Education:

• Associate's [Required]

Field of Study:

• Associate's in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution OR Successful completion of at least a 50-week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician); or qualified and served as high complexity testing personnel on or before April 24, 1995 in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December 28, 2024. [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ years clinical lab [Preferred]
