Actalent Mechanical Engineer in Park Ridge, Illinois
Description
Hydraulics & Fixture Design:
Key Responsibilities
Design and build fixtures and large hydraulic test stands
Perform fixture GD&T and structural analysis
Assemble and test fixtures they design
Conduct analysis using NX
Support testing activities in a production / lab environment
Write technical reports and requirements documentation
Collaborate with Electrical Engineers (basic EE terminology required)
Required Skills & Experience
5–10 years of experience
Strong background in:
Hydraulics
Fixture design
Test stand design
CAD tools:
NX (required)
AutoCAD 2D
Creo / Inventor (preferred)
Experience working in a test environment
Familiarity with DO-160 testing strongly preferred
US Citizen (no clearance required)
Motors & Motor Testing:
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build fixtures to test multiple motors simultaneously
Support motor and motor-controller testing
Build scaled test stands for electrical/mechanical components
Execute hands-on assembly of designed fixtures and stands
Work cross-functionally with Electrical Engineering
Required Skills & Experience:
3–5 years of experience
Experience with:
Motor and motor testing
Fixture design
Dynamometer testing (Dyno)
Strong understanding of electrical components (mechanical perspective)
Hands-on build-and-test mindset

This is a Contract position based out of Park Ridge, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
