Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a long-term 100% remote contract basis. This role involves overseeing key accounting processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting operational teams in managing project finances. Responsibilities:
• Lead the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Oversee revenue recognition for consulting projects, including time & materials and fixed-fee engagements.
• Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
• Monitor and analyze project costs, work in progress (WIP), and deferred revenue to support financial planning.
• Collaborate with billing and operations teams to ensure invoicing is accurate and completed on time.
• Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and conduct variance analysis to identify trends.
• Review and provide support for accounts payable and receivable processes as needed.
• Maintain well-organized and accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with audit preparations and tax-related requests, ensuring compliance.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance processes and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements • Proven experience with month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in using NetSuite or similar accounting software.
• Expertise in preparing and analyzing balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with revenue recognition principles for consulting projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
