ManpowerGroup Platform Engineer (Kubernetes, GitLab, Cloud, Compliance) in Palo Alto, California

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and security sector, is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their team where you will be part of the team supporting software development and compliance initiatives.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive communication, technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Platform Engineer (Kubernetes, GitLab, Cloud)

Location: Remote

Contract Duration: 9 months with possible extension

What's the Job?

  • Design, implement, and operate Kubernetes-based platform services, including multi-tenant clusters and workload orchestration.

  • Serve as a primary contributor to the architecture and deployment of a new GitLab instance, collaborating closely with the platform architect.

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps workflows to provision AWS and Kubernetes resources across programs.

  • Deploy and maintain AWS-based infrastructure supporting developer environments, CI/CD systems, and platform tooling.

  • Support CMMC and NIST 800-171 hardening efforts, ensuring security and compliance across cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong, hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments.

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering.

  • 3+ years of Python experience for automation and tooling.

  • Experience deploying and maintaining GitLab or similar VCS/CI platforms in cloud or hybrid environments.
