WHAT YOU’LL OWN (Position Summary)
Leads all planning activities for multiple business units. Responsible for releasing all finished good work orders. Supervises the planners and their daily activities related to sub-assemblies. Serves as single point of contact for each business unit leader under their umbrella. Ensures timely delivery of finished goods for sales orders.
JOB DUTIES (Responsibilities)
Responsible for all activities related to the formulation, generation, and status of the master production schedule.
Conducts and manages the weekly/monthly schedule attainment meeting ensuring that all parties are aligned to the required completion dates for our customers.
Establishes guidelines for determining planning factors such as order policies and planning lead times.
Release all finished good production orders and works closely with the procurement team to ensure component availability for Operations.
Trains planners and determines best practices for the stock room team
Leads NPI for the Supply Chain organization
Performs excess and obsolete (E&O) analyses and coordinates with the appropriate functions to establish inventory reserve values and to initiate disposition of the material.
Monitors, compares, and reports department performance and develops corrective action plans
Manages a team of planners and sets their daily/weekly/monthly goals
Establishes KPIs for each planner to measure their performance against company targets
Performs other related duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with 6–10 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong experience in MRP-based planning systems
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to analyze data and produce reports to support decision-making for production control
Prior leadership or team lead experience is a plusI’m currently partnering with a well-established aerospace & advanced manufacturing company in the Bay Area on a key Supply Chain / Planning leadership hire . What you’ll own:
Full ownership of the master production schedule (MPS) across multiple business units
Alignment of materials, capacity, and demand to ensure on-time delivery
Leading weekly/monthly schedule attainment meetings with cross-functional teams
Releasing production orders and partnering with procurement to ensure material availability
Managing and developing a team of planners
Driving KPIs, performance tracking, and corrective actions
Supporting NPI initiatives within Supply Chain
Managing excess & obsolete (E&O) inventory analysis and disposition What they’re looking for:
6–10 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment
Strong experience with MRP systems
Ability to manage complex schedules and resolve constraints
Proficiency in Excel and data analysis for planning decisions
Prior leadership or team lead experience is a plus
Pay Details: $95,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
