Job Title: Development Architect

Purpose and Objective:

SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Development Architect at our Palo Alto, CA location to collaborate with design and product management to deliver new features and improve existing ones.

Expectations and Tasks:

Own the code from ideation to deployment, and through QA and support. Improve existing Product Architecture and coach other Engineers by sharing best practices. Participate in the agile processes to contribute to, understand, and refine scope required to delivery on time and budget. Apply clean code principles, unit tests, performance analysis, automation where valuable, and other quality controls. Conduct technical code reviews for peers by supporting the execution of a standardized code review process.

Education and Occupational Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field of study and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Employer will accept a 3 or 4 years Bachelor's degree. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must involve five (5) years in the following:

  • SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP Cloud Platform;

  • Software architecture modeling, documentation drafting, and exercising best practices for large-scale enterprise applications;

  • XSUAA or SAP Identity Authentication Service (IAS);

  • Cloud-native application development and DevOps practices including PaaS offerings, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment techniques within SAP ecosystems;

  • System performance optimization, security operations, and compliance requirements in SAP cloud environments; and

  • Collaborating cross-functionally within a large-scale enterprise software development environment and translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience must involve four (4) years in the following:

  • Designing and optimizing SAP HANA or other relational databases;

  • Designing and implementing integration solutions between SAP products and services; and

  • Internet and network protocols for cloud service integration in SAP environments.

Compensation Range Transparency : The annual base salary range for this position is $183,987 - $272,486. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $195,500 - $332,300. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
