Job Title: Maintenance Technician A

Job Description

The Maintenance Engineer A will utilize their expertise in troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure the optimal performance of distribution center systems. This role involves working with PLC Control Logic, electrical, mechanical, and analytical aspects of the business to address and resolve system issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit proven troubleshooting skills in all aspects of distribution center maintenance including PLC Control Logic, electrical, mechanical, and analytical areas.

  • Lead safe work practice behaviors by demonstrating safety in implementation of tasks.

  • Troubleshoot equipment-related problems and process performance issues to determine root causes.

  • Install electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, fixtures, motors, outlets, enclosures, to increase capacity, repair breakdowns, or improve efficiency.

  • Analyze and repair electrical and operational problems on assigned equipment and take corrective actions.

  • Assist in testing and calibrating electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC controls under operating conditions.

  • Perform diagnostic tests, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using various instruments.

  • Test, calibrate, and repair pneumatic controls, HVAC controls, pumps, fans, valves, PLC’s, motors, and motor starters/inverters.

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspection of assigned equipment, report findings, and take corrective actions.

  • Document and communicate recurring equipment malfunctions and lead the effort to implement corrective action recommendations.

  • Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to seek out similar issues for resolution.

  • Develop and present training sessions related to new, modified, or complex equipment operations.

  • Operate and troubleshoot label application equipment to maintain documented record of label quality.

  • Assist in routine preventative maintenance inspection including lubrication of equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Strong electrical experience with Estops, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and ladder logic.

  • Must be able to read electrical schematics and distinguish wire colors.

  • Conveyor experience and strong PLC knowledge.

  • Ability to open up a PLC cabinet, read the I/Os using schematics, and troubleshoot.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bennett Test.

  • 5-7 years experience in mechanical maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, conveyors, and sortation in a distribution environment.

  • Minimum of two years proven electrical/electronic experience.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled, brand new facility with cutting-edge equipment. The schedule is A Tech on 2nd shift from Sunday to Thursday, 3 PM to 11 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Palmetto, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
