Summary:

Business Development Representative (BDR) Program prepares entry level candidates for a stimulating and rewarding sales career in the exciting solar distribution arena. Our 15 – 18 month program is centered around account management and talent development. From their first day, our BDRs are trained weekly on core solar knowledge that helps them drive impact through account management and fulfillment during and after the BDR role. Successful graduates from our BDR program have progressed into more advanced sales roles which provides increased earning potential, and our promote-from-within culture has propelled our most committed and innovative BDRs into leadership roles within sales and business development. The CED Greentech BDR program is invested in talent who is committed to growing, learning, and performing in this role and beyond.

Reports to: Profit Center Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • 0-2 year of related work experience, post-graduation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional, efficient communication (verbal, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills (positive and personable)

ADDITIONAL PROFICIENCIES:

  • Desire to work in sales and in the ever-growing solar industry

  • Coachable, self-motivated, curious, and resilient, with a “get the job done” attitude

  • Well-rounded with varied interests, background, and experience

Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and various warehouse locations and conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 75 pounds.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Business Development Representative will be assigned specific customer accounts and will be accountable for those customers having a consistently positive experience with each company every day.

  • Write up customer orders, engage in pricing and availability discussions.

  • Create processes and strategies to help customers stay organized and informed, and to make it easy for the customers to provide forecasting for their upcoming needs.

  • Engage in ongoing learning and training in solar equipment to give customers advice on products and product alternatives.

  • Provide insight into purchasing decisions for the Company team based on conversations with customers and a well-established customer relationship.

  • Provide customer service to walk-in retail customers; handling cash/credit sales transactions.

  • Provide telephone sales support – answer customer questions, take orders, give directions, route calls, take messages.

  • Prepare/pick sales orders in support of the warehouse team.

  • Give input on marketing, events, and broader customer communications

  • Update lobby displays and stock literature in showroom.

  • Other duties as assigned
