Position Summary
The Accessories Shipping Lead Coordinator is a leadership role responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day shipping operations and leading a team of shipping specialists to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient order fulfillment. This position serves as the operational link between the shipping department, Sales, and other internal teams to coordinate shipments, prioritize orders, and resolve logistics challenges.
The ideal candidate brings strong people‑leadership experience, deep knowledge of shipping and receiving operations, and a hands‑on approach to logistics leadership. This role requires frequent forklift operation, internal and external computer systems usage, and active floor presence.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Daily Operations
Lead, coach, and support the daily activities of the shipping team, including work assignments, prioritization, and workflow coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for shipping employees during the shift
Train new team members on shipping procedures, safety standards, and system usage
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Shipping & Logistics Coordination
Plan and coordinate daily shipments of cables, hoses, and accessories to meet customer delivery requirements
Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Procurement and Accounting to align shipment timing and priorities
Ensure all outbound shipments are prepared accurately, including documentation, labeling, packaging, and carrier requirements
Monitor shipping schedules and proactively address delays, shortages, or capacity issues
Shipping & Receiving Execution
Perform hands‑on shipping and receiving tasks as needed, including picking, staging, loading, and unloading
Operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment safely and efficiently
Verify inventory accuracy and report discrepancies or damages
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping efficiency, space utilization, and material flow
Systems, Documentation & Communication
Utilize computer systems and programs such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office to communicate, track shipments, and maintain records
Ensure shipping paperwork, bills of lading, and internal documentation are complete and accurate
Communicate effectively across shifts and departments to ensure seamless operations
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 – 7 years logistics leadership experience
Extensive experience in shipping, receiving, and logistics operations
Forklift Certification
Proficiency using computers, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
Proven ability to coordinate with multiple internal teams to meet customer and business requirements
Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Ability to lead by example and work hands‑on in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience shipping industrial products such as cables, hoses, or accessories
Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Familiarity with ERP, WMS, or shipping software systems
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift on a regular basis
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
Regular forklift operation and warehouse floor activity
Hourly position; schedule may include overtime based on operational needs
