Quality Control Inspector – Medical Devices

Job Summary

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing in‑process and final inspections of all medical device products manufactured and distributed at our Pawtucket facility. This role ensures all products meet defined specifications, engineering requirements, and regulatory standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform in‑process and final inspections across all product lines, including visual checks and testing of components and assemblies.

  • Verify calibration status of critical equipment and instrumentation.

  • Initiate Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) for nonconforming materials and collaborate with manufacturing to contain affected product.

  • Conduct comprehensive Device History Record (DHR) reviews and support product release activities.

  • Assist in evaluating customer complaints, returned products, and retained samples, processing returns according to established procedures.

  • Accurately document quality testing information within DHRs.

  • Train team members on all aspects of in‑process and final inspection.

  • Prepare and review monthly quality metrics.

  • Conduct periodic audits and facility walk‑throughs to ensure compliance with SOPs and SIPs.

  • Support daily activities for Final Quality Control Inspectors as needed.

  • Prepare retained samples for appropriate storage.

  • Ensure strict compliance with procedures and apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while adhering to all safety regulations.

  • Complete all assigned tasks within established guidelines.

  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and waste reduction efforts.

Required Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • 5–6 years of experience in a related quality inspection role, or a combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)

  • Skilled in using measurement and test equipment such as rulers, calipers, and mechanical/electrical instruments

  • Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office and inspection software tools

  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

  • Ability to read specifications, procedures, engineering drawings, and blueprints

  • Solid understanding of inspection processes with the ability to handle a wide range of tasks independently

  • Strong judgment, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Palm Springs, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
