ServU Federal Credit Union Real Estate Specialist 1 in PAINTED POST, New York
JOB SUMMARY: Takes and processes home equity loan applications. Works with the loan officer and member on home equity loan requests. Gathers and prepares information to move the loan file forward and close the loan. Prepares and processes home equity applications and documents from the time of loan decisioning to closing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Obtains a thorough knowledge of loan procedures and policies. * Handle phone inquiries from members and staff. * Assist with clerical duties: mail loan forms, file, prepare Loan Estimates, complete payroll allocations, etc. * Obtain credit ratings/credit reports from outside agencies. * Correspond with attorneys to ensure that necessary information is obtained. * Process approved loans. Disburse loan proceeds. * Orders and reviews appraisals and titles. * Balances service and risk for the organization by reviewing loan files and ensuring they meet loan policy requirements; underwriting guidelines and the collateral is sufficient. * Maintain member loan files: supporting loan documents, check-backs. * Prepare Funds in Progress report. * Audit Real Estate loan files. * Prepare and administer closings for Real Estate Loans. * Cross sell other credit union services. * Any other duties assigned by management. * Community involvement is a requirement of this position as outlined in the ServU Employee Handbook. * Complies with all federal, state, and organizational policies, procedures, and processes, including (but not limited to) the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Performs related responsibilities as required. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: * Strong social skills and professional appearance. * Solid judgement * Team player with department and other branch staff. * Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. * Great attention to detail, writing skills and proof reading. * Organization skills and math computation abilities. * Extensive use of PC and sitting for long periods of time. * High level of confidentiality is mandatory.
