CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Engineer II.

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Technology
Description
The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for the design, development, and support of process equipment used in advanced manufacturing environments. This role involves working cross-functionally with process, electrical, controls, metrology, facilities, IT, and operations teams to deliver high-performance equipment solutions. The engineer applies principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and machine design to support the full lifecycle of equipment—from concept through installation and start-up.
Requirements:
• Design process equipment and lead procurement activities
• Oversee and participate in assembly, installation, and start-up/debug of equipment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
• Develop and manage detailed design packages including drawings and specifications
• Work with machine shops and vendors during fabrication and procurement phases
• Apply engineering fundamentals to solve complex mechanical and thermal challenges
Qualifications
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in early-stage development environments
• Knowledge of web-conveyance fundamentals and roll-to-roll system design
• Knowledge of thermal equipment fundamentals and custom thermal equipment design
• Proficiency in structural and thermal FEA modeling
• Experience with mechanical equipment design, installation, start-up, and debugging
• Ability to manage all phases of equipment design from concept through implementation
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and EPDM Vault
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
• Comfortable working independently with minimal direction in evolving environments
• Familiarity with electrical, controls, and process engineering disciplines
• Minimal travel requirements (approximately 10%)
