Job Summary and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in our healthcare facility, which is essential to ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained.
Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and other areas of the facility
Follow established cleaning and disinfection protocols and procedures
Collect and dispose of waste, biohazardous waste, and linens
Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms and common areas
Respond to requests for cleaning services from healthcare staff
You may operate heavy-duty equipment and use special cleaning equipment.
Job Requirements
Housekeeping experience required, utilizing basic housekeeping practices and procedures, proper handling/disposal of infectious waste, and proper safety skills in handling of housekeeping chemicals
Acute healthcare work experience involving the use of heavy equipment such as buffers, extractors, wide area vacuums, and wet vacuums
Special Skills:
Ability to converse, comprehend, and communicate verbally in English.
Ability to work tactfully and effectively with team members, patients, and visitors.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of issues and materials designed as such.
This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
