Crane Service Technician - Industrial Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance - Oxnard, CA:

Our Industrial Crane Installation and Service business continues to grow our customer base and expand into new areas, and we are on the lookout for strong service technicians to be part of our team in Oxnard, California! We've been an independently owned c ompany for over 60+ years and still have family roots. We are a material handling equipment fabrication and service company headquartered in the Midwest with customers from coast to coast and this role will be at a fixed customer site in Oxnard, California and work four 10-hour shifts . Potential relocation assistance is available, if necessary.

Location: Oxnard, CA

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday thru Thursday or Tuesday thru Friday - working four (4) 10-hour shifts with potential emergency (overtime) hours

Salary: Based on experience and background - $40/hour to $50/hour

Required: This position requires overhead crane maintenance experience and extensive industrial electrical and mechanical experience. This is not an entry level, training opportunity. Candidates without previous industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience will not be considered!

As an Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Crane Service Technician you are responsible for performing comprehensive quality inspections, running diagnostic testing, completing required repairs, and executing preventative electrical and mechanical maintenance service on overhead cranes, portable gantry cranes, jib cranes, hoists, associated controls and parts. Since you will be assigned to and based with the customer, you will build a working relationship and establish yourself, in this role, as the go-to for site based coverage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Extensive electrical experience is required. Experience with 208V, 240V, 277V, and 480V 3 Phase power is required at a minimum. PLC troubleshooting and programming is also necessary.

  • Troubleshoot and repair overhead cranes, crane controls, hoists and drives.

  • Inspect overhead industrial cranes, hoists, and associated equipment.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.

  • Proper use of a man lift during service.

  • Evaluate and communicate with recommendations requiring repairs.

  • Communicate with management and sales as to what further needs the customer could have.

  • Attends customer safety and operations meetings as required.

  • Maintains time tracking per job and reports any product concerns or inconsistencies.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently, as required.

CORE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, manuals, and schematics.

  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot issues quickly and calmly.

  • Ability to manage time to a schedule and accountable for reporting per job.

  • Ability to properly maintain and perform basic troubleshooting on equipment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software as necessary to complete logs or records.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years' work experience as an industrial maintenance technician.

  • Strong Mechanical and Electrical skills from trade school or hands on experience required.

  • Electrical knowledge working with, a minimum of, 3 Phase - 480V, Industrial Electric Service, performing voltage conversions, working with capacitors and transformer connections.

  • Overhead crane experience at some level is required.

  • Welding aptitude would be a benefit.

  • Ability to work overtime.

  • Demonstrated positive attendance record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.

  • Ability to frequently walk, climb, kneel, bend, reach overhead, push, pull, and use a ladder or stool.

  • Frequently exposed to heat, cold, noise and heights.

  • Ability to work in outside conditions during all seasons.

  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.

  • Must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay Details: $83,200.00 to $104,000.00 per year
