Role Summary
The Wealth Management Director- Strategic Initiatives provides enterprise-level leadership for high-impact, time-bound initiatives that advance the strategy and broader Advice transformation. This role is accountable for driving complex initiatives from problem definition through execution, ensuring measurable outcomes aligned to business objectives.
Operating within Individual Investors’(“II”) Wealth Management Strategy & Transformation team, this leader sets direction, frames decisions, and drives outcomes for priority initiatives while acting as an orchestrator across internal stakeholders rather than a delivery team substitute.
Responsibilities
Strategic Initiative Leadership & Ownership:
Lead high-impact initiatives such as pilot synthesis, modular advice activation, advisor operating model changes, and M&A integration planning.
Define initiative scope, success metrics, and execution plans aligned to priorities.
Ensure initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes, including revenue growth and client adoption.
Strategic Leadership & Decision Framing:
Frame ambiguous problems, define hypotheses, and drive decision-making across complex initiatives.
Develop executive-ready materials that translate analysis into clear recommendations.
Build business cases quantifying financial impact, investment requirements, and risks.
Cross-Functional Orchestration & Delivery Oversight:
Coordinate across matrixed teams spanning II, Retirement Plan Services, Technology, Marketing, Legal, and external partners.
Lead workstreams related to planning and integration with external partners or acquisitions.
Manage dependencies, risks, and timelines to ensure successful execution.
Operating Model & Change Enablement:
Act as a problem-solver and integrator, not a program management office.
Drive accountability across teams without direct authority.
Support implementation of new capabilities, processes, and operating model changes.
Ensure initiatives align with broader strategy and do not create fragmentation.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
12+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, or transformation roles.
Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and financial modeling skills.
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions.
Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to executive audiences.
Preferred:
Experience in wealth management, financial services, or advisory businesses.
Background in M&A, integration, or strategic partnerships.
Experience leading enterprise transformation or large-scale initiatives.
Strong understanding of operating model design and execution.
Ability to operate effectively in highly ambiguous, fast-paced environments

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
Base Salary Ranges

$159,000.00 - $272,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$175,000.00 - $299,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$199,000.00 - $339,000.00 for the location of: New York, California
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role . Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package . Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
