Actalent Construction Project Engineer in Owings Mills, Maryland

Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support a variety of influx projects. The role involves overseeing all phases of the project from pre-construction to completion, with responsibilities in schedule management, budget oversight, and subcontractor selection. This position offers an opportunity to work on projects in manufacturing, R&D, defense, industrial, and pharma sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all project phases from pre-construction to completion.

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and subcontractor selection.

  • Collaborate with Field Superintendent to deliver construction projects.

  • Manage customer relations and financial aspects of the project.

  • Develop and manage subcontractor scopes of work.

  • Procure vendors and develop subcontracts.

  • Analyze changes in the work and coordinate project documents.

  • Conduct proactive analysis of work sequence and perform 'best value' analysis.

  • Plan and phase project duties effectively.

  • Schedule and coordinate with the design team.

  • Coordinate commissioning, closeout, and warranty items.

  • Lead the project with a focus on safety, quality control, and craftsmanship.

  • Participate in Preconstruction Services for budgeting, scheduling, and value engineering.

  • May manage one project full-time or multiple smaller projects.

Essential Skills

  • At least one year of experience as a construction Project Engineer.

  • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Experience with specialized construction software such as Timberline, E-Builder, and BIM 360.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in Construction Management-at-Risk delivery method.

  • Experience in construction estimating.

  • Recent experience on projects in Maryland is a plus.

  • Higher education degree in a related field is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic with a focus on local projects, offering a supportive atmosphere with a family feel. The position starts on a contractual basis with the potential for a long-term permanent role. Projects include schools, commercial facilities, interiors, up to five-story buildings, retail, and restaurants. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owings Mills, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $39.00/hr.
