Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Job Description
As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating shop drawings for custom commercial kitchen equipment, including floor plans, elevations, and any other specifications provided. The role requires solid modeling skills, and a background in sheet metal is advantageous. You will design custom stainless steel equipment that meets specific customer and industry requirements.
Responsibilities
Create shop drawings for custom equipment, including floor plans and elevations.
Design and draft complex parts and assemblies with mechanical design and integration skills.
Manage large assemblies consisting of sheet metal, parts, sub-assemblies, hardware, and imported files.
Assist in establishing better modeling skills, provide software training, and suggest improvements for other Design Engineers.
Work with project managers to deliver requested drafts for customer review.
Simultaneously work on multiple projects, prioritizing deadlines effectively.
Procure products, create DXF drawings for laser cutting and bending, and draft electrical drawings.
Troubleshoot and adapt model files from the CAD library to meet customer specifications.
Essential Skills
3D-modeling for sheet metal.
Familiarity with a PDM Product Management Database.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Knowledge of GD&T for manufacturing sheet metal.
Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or SolidEdge, and CAD experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1-2+ years of experience
Experience with sheet metal and interpreting drawings.
Work Environment
The work environment involves managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings, utilizing technologies such as Siemens SolidEdge for 3D modeling and CAD systems. The position requires working closely with project managers, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and ensuring adherence to project deadlines.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oviedo, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
