The External Manufacturing Commercial Operations Manager is accountable for the execution of Commercial and EM strategies to ensure an uninterrupted supply of externally quality produced materials and/or finished goods for Food EU and the successful execution of EM projects.
What are your key responsibilities?
Commercial Operations is expected to be the key interface between Commercial and key business stakeholders such as Quality, Innovation, Marketing, Product Supply, Finance and Manufacturing. The incumbent is responsible for strategy development for local suppliers (15%) and leading the operations (85%) toward execution and operational excellence (Quality/Service/Cost/Sustainability) in the following key areas for External Manufacturing:
Co-creating and drive the development of a sustainable, resilient and responsive supply chain to ensure contingencies and safety strategies are developed while balance cash and inventory levels
Efficient execution of (Commercial) operational tasks to ensure uninterrupted supply of External Suppliers and support regional objective of 98.5% CSL
Leading the External Manufacturing Commercial program to build and execute Primes Cost Value Leadership pipeline to deliver 6% year over year primes cost improvement (and initiate ideas to drive Improvement)
Build and implement a supplier performance review program, measuring the supplier performance, quality of materials delivered, reliability of supply, and innovation capabilities.
Contribution into growth targets via effective support and execution of new product launches through regional and global ATGs
Support the execution of Regional and Global Commercial & External Manufacturing strategies
Support the EMQM team to execute regional strategies to drive the continuous improvement of our material supply chain
Manage external suppliers through key KPIs that are contractually bound and agreed upon with suppliers in SOW’s (Standards of Work) but clearly reported similarly to Mars Food internal factories
Work hand to hand with the Regional Strategic Sourcing Manager (Regional SM)
Manage the regional spend of co-packing (primary, secondary, tertiary)
Support External Manufacturing Global Commercial Head by fulfilling duties of PMO for the regional team.
Insure smooth invoicing process in place
What are we looking for?
Bachelor degree with a focus on supply chain management, business, engineering, or operations
5-7 years practical working experience in supply chain or procurement (Commercial) roles
Knowledge of manufacturing and operational processes
Effective relationship management - internal and external
Learn and adapt to changing market conditions and business dynamics
Knowledge of lean supply chain management principles
Understanding of external manufacturing supply chain from raw material supplier through to point of use
Familiarity with SAP and demand planning systems
Understanding of activity management process to launch new products
Strong analytical and project management skills
Forecasting and negotiation
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent stakeholder management and communication
Prepared to travel within Europe and potentially Asia (15% of time)
