Jacobs Sustainability Coordinator in Ottawa, Ontario

As the Sustainability Coordinator with Jacobs Advanced Facilities - Electronics team, you will have the chance to work with a highly creative, in-house multidisciplinary design team dedicated to building performance and design excellence.  Working with other members of our four-person Sustainability Group, you’ll support day-to-day operations for a wide range of world class advanced facilities & mission critical projects & buildings, related to sustainable consulting services as well as third-party LEED certification.  As the Sustainability Coordinator, you will be dedicated to sustainable development practices and assisting with LEED deliverables on active design and construction projects. You will also have the opportunity to participate in meetings with designers, contractors, and owners and assist with administrative aspects of projects including business correspondence, proposals/contracts, new project set up, meeting/event coordination.  Support of billable project work may require you to transcribe technical meeting notes and perform advanced technical analysis (e.g. computer simulated daylighting life-cycle assessments, integration of Revit, energy modeling, and other technical analysis needed for LEED projects).

  • At least 4 years of design experience for semiconductor facilities, laboratories, cleanroom, and datacenters required

  • Masters degree in Architecture or Engineering

  • LEED Project Administration experience required

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with LEED Online embodied carbon modeling software and Revit

  • Ability to learn the established workflows, systems, and tools of the Electronics Sustainability Group

  • Punctual, proactive and attentive, with strong organizational skill

  • Ability to maintain reliable work practices to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements

  • Strong verbal and written business communication skills and coordinating with other designers to resolve design and/or LEED issues

  • Proficiency in self-checking work; ability to work independently with minimal guidance and a motivated self-starter

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies related to sustainability, embodied carbon, artificial intelligence

  • LEED Accredited Professional (AP) certification preferred
