Position : Contract
About the Role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Mechanical Assembler to support the final assembly of low‑volume, complex electronic products. In this role, you will work at a dedicated assembly station installing final panels on small electronic assemblies, performing basic quality checks, and preparing materials for upcoming builds. Success in this role requires hands‑on experience with small electronic components, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) precisely while working across multiple product variations.
This is an excellent opportunity to build specialized experience in a clean, quiet electronics manufacturing environment focused on precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and install final panels on commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) electronic boards using hand drills and other basic hand tools
Perform basic quality inspections on boards as they move through production equipment, identifying visible defects or issues
Read, understand, and consistently follow detailed SOPs to ensure accurate and repeatable assembly
Prepare materials for upcoming builds, including organizing components and ensuring feeders and workstations are ready
Support other areas of the production floor as needed, assisting with additional assembly or value‑added tasks
Adapt to a variety of COTS product configurations and changing assembly requirements
Use downtime productively by preparing materials, planning upcoming work based on SOPs, and assisting teammates
Lift and load materials (up to approximately 20 lbs) into feeders or equipment as required
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation and handle tools and equipment responsibly
Communicate clearly with team members and follow production documentation to meet quality and throughput goals
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of mechanical assembly experience with small electronic components or electronics‑related products
Demonstrated experience assembling small, precision parts (not large construction or furniture assemblies)
At least 2 years of experience reading and following SOPs in a manufacturing or production environment
Hands‑on experience using hand drills and similar hand tools in an assembly setting
Ability to perform basic quality checks and recognize visible defects on electronic assemblies
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials up to approximately 20 lbs
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency when working with small parts
Ability to work independently at a dedicated station while collaborating effectively with a production team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
Familiarity with COTS electronic products and variation‑driven assembly work
Comfort with surface‑mount technology (SMT) processes and solder‑related tasks
Ability to remain productive during downtime by preparing materials, assembling other components, or planning work based on SOPs
Experience working in low‑volume, high‑complexity manufacturing environments
