Fujitsu Canada is seeking a full-time, permanent Data Scientist to support enterprise-scale Knowledge Management (KM) modernization projects for Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). This role focuses on AI/ML/NLP-driven transformation, semantic enrichment, and intelligent content migration aligned with federal compliance and innovation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Apply AI/ML/NLP techniques to support semantic search, contradiction detection, and content enrichment.

  • Design and implement knowledge graphs and ontology models for scalable KM frameworks.

  • Develop and deploy supervised and unsupervised learning models for metadata validation and document classification.

  • Integrate Azure Cognitive Services and other AI tools for automated tagging, summarization, and quality assurance.

  • Collaborate with architects, linguists, and content authors to ensure semantic consistency and accuracy.

  • Support bilingual dataset processing and merging into unified knowledge articles.

  • Contribute to iterative development cycles, rapid prototyping, and continuous integration.

  • Participate in the design of scalable, API-accessible KM ecosystems using DevOps practices.

Mandatory Skills

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Computational Linguistics.

  • Proficiency in Python and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face Transformers.

  • Experience with semantic search, topic modeling, entity recognition, and contradiction detection.

  • Familiarity with RDF, SPARQL, and ontology design for knowledge graph development.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines for managing AI workflows.

  • Knowledge of DITA XML, XSLT, and Document-as-Code principles.

  • Ability to handle bilingual datasets (English/French) and ensure semantic consistency.

  • Understanding of responsible AI practices including bias mitigation and explainability.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with FAISS, Pinecone, or similar tools for semantic clustering and search.

  • Familiarity with FrameNet and other linguistic resources for semantic enrichment.

  • Exposure to LLMs (e.g., GPT-4, Claude) for content rewriting and summarization.

  • Experience with post-migration analytics using Power BI, Tableau, or Quicksight.

  • Prior work in regulated or public sector environments leveraging AI for KM modernization.

General Requirements

  • Must reside in theGatineau area in Quebec.

  • Hybrid work arrangement — onsite at least three days per week, with additional days as needed.

  • Eligibility for Reliability Status security clearance; minimum five years’ residency in Canada.
