IBM Procurement BPO Consultant in Osaka, Japan
Introduction
We support all aspects of transformation in the procurement and purchasing domain—from strategy development and organizational reform to operational improvement, system implementation and operation, and business execution through BPO (Business Process Outsourcing).

Strategy Development: We assess the client’s current state and define the desired future state, then develop a transformation roadmap.
*
Organizational and Operational Improvement: We improve internal regulations, rules, processes, and procedures to address various challenges such as cost reduction, productivity enhancement, and compliance assurance.
*
System Implementation: We primarily support the implementation of SaaS-based procurement systems.
*
BPO Implementation: Leveraging our DX Center, we design frameworks and provide operational support to execute clients’ procurement and purchasing operations.
*
AI/PRA Implementation: We utilize cutting-edge technologies to enhance productivity for both clients and BPO operations.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Procurement and Purchasing Transformation Project Manager, I am responsible for deeply understanding clients’ challenges and examining, proposing, and executing optimal solutions.
Specifically, my responsibilities include:

Analyzing clients’ issues related to evaluation and purchasing, proposing and implementing optimal solutions, and developing feasible work plans.
*
Leveraging IBM’s procurement and purchasing transformation capabilities to the fullest and proposing tailored solutions that best meet client needs.
*
Demonstrating leadership even in challenging project situations and guiding team members toward success.
*
Driving business process reforms aimed at optimizing procurement and purchasing processes, and supporting the implementation and effective utilization of related systems.
*
Conducting data analysis related to clients’ evaluation and purchasing activities, and formulating and executing strategies for cost reduction and operational efficiency improvement.
*
Collaborating closely with stakeholders (executive management, business units, IT departments, etc.) to ensure the successful delivery of procurement and purchasing transformation projects.
Required technical and professional expertise
*
Candidates with experience in any of the following environments: consulting firms, system integrators (SI), or operating companies.
*
Experience in the procurement and purchasing domain, including procurement strategy development, supplier management, organizational design, and business process design and improvement. Candidates should be able to leverage these skills to accurately understand departmental challenges, develop and execute solutions, and lead change management initiatives.

Experience in defining requirements, designing, and implementing procurement systems.
Preferred technical and professional experience
*
Strong logical thinking, drive, communication skills, documentation skills, and proficiency in Japanese.
*
Solution delivery skills to support various business transformations (e.g., Ariba, Coupa, Oracle Procurement Cloud).
Technology skills such as Watson, RPA, and Celonis, with the ability to proactively implement advanced solutions by leveraging these technologies.
*
The ability to translate management issues into supply chain challenges and develop strategic roadmaps.
*
Business consulting skills in the procurement domain.
*
Experience in proposing and leading business process transformation projects at a consulting firm.
