ITW Mechanical Engineer in Orting, Washington
Job Description:
This position will have an active role in defining and executing continuous improvement activities in our products and processes through tasks assigned in support of both Production Engineering and New Product Development. The role will provide an opportunity to be hands on and interactive with the production floor but will also provide opportunities to flex your brain power to identify innovative solutions to complex issues.
Compensation: Salaried Role $80,000 - $90,000
Scope and Function:
Support and/or complete medium to high level, complex engineering tasks/projects as assigned to meet business objectives and support product lines for the food service industry.
Conceive, plan, develop, & coordinate projects as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross-functional team.
Create and develop engineering project documentation, i.e. bill of materials, drawings, and specifications.
Develop prototypes and test plans; validate as required.
Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve engineering project issues.
Participate in or conduct design reviews and provide feedback, using the appropriate tools i.e. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, field and lab testing
Research and provide the required product information to support sales, service, and marketing to satisfy customer needs
Define and execute Value Analysis and Value Engineering projects as assigned
Apply advanced engineering theory and practices, along with experience, to complex designs
Coordinate engineering activities with other departments including change plans, engineering changes, performance/agency testing and trial runs.
Support assembly and manufacturing operation. Provide troubleshooting and technical guidance to resolve production issues

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
100% Onsite role in office and manufacturing environment
Hands on testing and/or troubleshooting
Ability Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering – BSME Preferred (ABET accredited College/University) 3-5 years of mechanical engineering competency in a manufacturing environment
Autodesk Inventor experience a plus but not required
Electrical wiring and design a plus but not required.
Food equipment experience preferred
