KidsPeace Childrens Hospital Case Manager in Orono, Maine
KidsPeace is seeking a motivated and collaborative Education Case Manager to join our team in Orono, Maine. This role is ideal for an education or human services professional who thrives in student advocacy, systems coordination, and educational access.
The core and ongoing focus of this position is education case management. In the short term and while building a case management caseload, the Education Case Manager will provide admissions coverage to ensure continuity of services during staffing transitions. This temporary coverage is intended to support team needs and does not represent a long-term admissions role.
Key Responsibilities
Education Case Management & Student Support
Manage an assigned education-focused caseload with professionalism, organization, and attention to student needs
Coordinate case-related information, ensuring appropriate access, documentation, and releases
Coordinate, facilitate and participate in treatment plan reviews, advocating for student service needs
Collaborate with school districts, special education teams, legal guardians, and service providers
Maintain accurate documentation, including communication logs, documentation records, and service updates
Promote development of natural supports and community-based educational resources
Promote and model KidsPeace’s standards of care, including quality improvement and customer service
Monitor quality of care through ongoing communication, feedback, and problem-solving
Admissions Learning & Systems Coordination
Learn the admissions process from intake through enrollment, including referral review and coordination
Collaborate with admissions staff to gather, organize, and review educational and case documentation
Communicate with referring school districts, agencies, and stakeholders regarding admissions requirements
Participate in admissions meetings and interdisciplinary discussions to learn program fit and placement decision-making
Promote and model KidsPeace’s standards of care, including customer service and continuous quality improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field preferred
Experience in education systems, special education, case management, or human services strongly preferred
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while balancing caseload and learning new systems
Comfort collaborating across departments and with complex systems (schools, districts, agencies)
Valid driver’s license and ability to provide transportation as needed
