Job Description:

Transforms large amounts of complex data into business insights and solutions using statistics, machine learning, pattern recognition, text mining, and parallel/distributed computing. Identifies data abnormalities and their root causes, and suggests possible steps for mitigation. Performs ad-hoc studies and develops analytic reports. Formulates validation strategies to ensure accurate and reliable data. Follows best practices for developing analytic methodologies and software. Advocates and educates on the value of data-driven decision making, focusing on the “how and why” of solving problems. Leads analytic approaches, integrating work into applications and tools with data engineers, business leads, analysts, and developers. Creates iterative, interpretable, dynamic, and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytic data products based on feedback from multiple stakeholders. Engineers features by combining disparate internal and external structured and unstructured data sets and sources. Shares passion for Data Science with the broader enterprise community; develops long-term processes, frameworks, tools, methods, and standards. Stays connected with external sources of ideas through conferences and community engagements. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Healthcare Business Acumen & Industry Knowledge: [Required]

• Strong record of healthcare data mining experience with results [Required]

• Ability to approach high-level challenges with a clear eye on what is important; employing the right approach/methods to make the maximum use of time and human resources. [Required]

• Experience working with a healthcare data platform such as the Epic and Cerner [Required]

• Experience working in a large healthcare system a strong plus [Required]

• Effective Communication: [Required]

• Proficient at detailing techniques and discoveries to technical and non-technical audiences in a language they can understand. [Required]

• Demonstrated ability to write scholarly publications [Required]

• Quantitative/Technical Skills: [Required]

• 6+ years experience in Data Science [Required]

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Health Care field, preferably with a large health system [Required]

• Demonstrated ability with the following skills required: Small data modeling using Python, R, Julia or Octave; big data modeling using Hadoop, Pig, Scala, or Spark; data mining using SQL, Pandas, or MongoDB; and production Development of data science solutions using Java, Python, or C++ [Required]

• Strong data interpretation and visualization skills, experience in using BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) [Required]

• Experience in handling large volume of data [Required]

• Highly competent in advanced statistical modeling and implementation of machine learning algorithms, including real-time data analytics [Required]

• Competency of Cloud-based computing and data integration services (MS Azure, Data Factory, Snowflake) [Required]

• Analytical techniques such as optimization process, predictive models and text analytics/ NLP [Required]

• Intellectual Curiosity: [Required]

• Proficient at exploring new territories and finding creative and unusual ways to solve problems [Required]

• Self-motivated, independent and goal-oriented, a fast learner with good communication skills. [Required]

$96,266.14 - $179,045.63
