Burns & McDonnell Project Manager- Aviation (Orlando) in Orlando, Florida

Description Burns & McDonnell’s Aviation team in Florida is growing and seeking an Aviation Project Manager to support the delivery of aviation facility projects and the continued expansion of our aviation practice in the region. This position is well-suited for an experienced Aviation Project Manager or a Senior Aviation Engineer/Assistant Project Manager who is ready to grow into a larger project leadership role while contributing to the development of a growing aviation practice.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical design and management experience while helping build our presence in the Florida market. This role will lead and support aviation facility projects, including hangars, MRO facilities, airline support buildings, and other airport infrastructure. This role will collaborate closely with integrated design and construction teams and support the delivery of aviation projects utilizing design-build and other alternative delivery methods, in addition to traditional design-only projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead coordination of multidisciplinary design teams and collaborate closely with construction partners to deliver aviation facility projects.

  • Communicate and coordinate with project teams to manage key deliverables including scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Direct coordination with clients and other external partners.

  • Support client engagement and relationship development. Assist in pursuit, proposal development, and contract negotiations for aviation opportunities.

  • Assist in the direction of project planning, budgeting, and establishing critical project objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, and/or construction management or equivalent years of relevant experience.

  • Minimum 7 years of related engineering and/or experience; 10 years preferred.

  • Experience leading or supporting aviation facility projects such as hangars, MRO facilities, airline support buildings, or other airport infrastructure.

  • Experience working on airport facility projects in a design or field environment is preferred.

  • Must have the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contacts on project-related matters.

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project finance skills.

  • Professional Registration preferred.
