Engineer - Operations & Maintenance
Location: Orlando, FL
Overview
This role supports critical automated transportation systems that operate in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. The engineer serves as a technical expert responsible for maintaining system performance, resolving issues, and improving long-term reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Own the performance and reliability of electro-mechanical systems
Troubleshoot complex system failures and implement corrective actions
Conduct root cause analysis and recommend long-term solutions
Ensure preventative maintenance is completed on schedule and to standard
Maintain accurate records within maintenance management systems
Interpret electrical schematics and system diagrams for diagnostics
Collaborate with engineering teams to update procedures and documentation
Train and mentor technicians on systems, troubleshooting, and best practices
Provide leadership support when supervisors are unavailable
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
3–5+ years working with electro-mechanical or automated systems
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Experience with PLC, SCADA, or industrial automation systems preferred
Familiarity with CMMS/MMIS systems
Strong communication and leadership ability
Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Ability to obtain required security clearances
Willingness to work in industrial environments with safety requirements
Ability to pass background, drug screening, and physical requirements
Work Environment
Active industrial/transportation setting with moving systems
Exposure to electrical systems and varying environmental conditions
Requires physical activity including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces
