Insight Global Embedded Software Engineer in Orlando, Florida
Job Description
A client of Insight Global is looking for a embedded software engineer to join a brand‑new robotics and motor controls initiative within the logistics and automation space. This engineer will play a key role in developing a new lift system and custom robotic platform, coding the robot itself using an in‑house controller rather than pre‑built solutions. The role is highly hands‑on and focused on greenfield development, requiring the ability to design, write, and rebuild embedded control modules from scratch in C++ and Python while working closely with hardware, motors, and controllers. A major challenge of the project involves re‑architecting functionality previously handled by proprietary code, so candidates should be comfortable replacing existing systems and building custom solutions end‑to‑end. The ideal background includes strong embedded C++ experience, motor controls, and non‑ROS robotics development, with additional exposure to custom firmware, automation, or material‑handling systems considered a plus.
