The Deputy Program Director is a Sr. Program Management level position to oversee and be responsible for leading assigned areas of cost, schedule, and performance to deliver a large complex program through analysis, requirements, design, manufacture, integration, test, delivery, and sustainment phases. The Deputy Program Director will partner with the Program Director to lead a large multiple location cross functional team to achieve plan and business objectives within scheduled time constraints while meeting all contractual requirements.

Act as the Program Director in the Program Director’s absence
Provides expertise and support to management team while leading assigned integrated product team (IPT) to achieve technical, financial, contractual, management, and customer relations objectives of the program & business.
Superior interpersonal communication skills with all levels of management within Kratos and its customers
Partner with the Program Director in the development and implementation of cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of the program plan.
Lead assigned operational process improvement initiatives to improve execution
Experience interfacing directly with government and/or commercial customer representatives
Perform assigned cost, schedule, and performance program analysis/assessments
Partner with the Program Director to develop and maintain current, accurate, and complete program plans
Oversee the risk management of the program to include leading mitigation plans
Make timely and complete recommendations to achieve business objectives using outcome of collaborative analysis/assessments of technical, schedule, financial, and customer relations.
Owns deliverables assigned by the Program Director IAW approved plans to meet contractual requirements on time and within approved budgets.
Oversees the thoroughness and timeliness of assigned deliverable submissions
Partner with the Program Director on program reviews with the customer, integrated product teams, and Kratos executive management
Required Experience:
A minimum of ten years’ experience in managing complex programs with increasing responsibilities with a proven track record of leadership and operational excellence
Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management i.e. subordinates through the Division President and/or CEO
Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary
Ability to adhere to workplace rules
Strong customer relationship management skills
Must have working knowledge of Department of Defense Acquisition/ Frame- work and associated design milestones.
Ability to execute IAW cradle to grave program management best practices
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decision recommendations.
Must be adept in Microsoft Office Suite including working knowledge of MS Project.
Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, and flexible
Demonstrates experience in problem solving for complex, multi-skill required issues.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
Excellent project/program management and leadership skills
Proficient with Microsoft Project
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management
Bachelor’s Degree in management, engineering, business, or related field
10 Years minimum experience or a combination of education and job- related experience
Experience as a Program Manager
Experience managing a large team at multiple locations to include subcontractors
Preferred Skills and Experience
Working knowledge of Engineering Design and Build process to include work products
Working knowledge of Software CMMI principles and practices.
Master’s Degree in a Technical Area or MBA
Familiarity with JIRA packets
PMP and/or DAWIA Level 3 Certification in Program Management
