Summary of Responsibilities

 

• Conduct initial fitness assessments and personal training sessions for individuals or small groups following protocols and industry standards.

• Motivate and educate clients on health and fitness related to their goals.

• Develop customized workout programs based on clients' goals, fitness levels, and any medical limitations.

• Complete reports, forms, and surveys to track and record clients and their progress and their satisfaction with services.

• Actively market and promote our personal fitness services, facility, and programs.

• Develop reports and surveys to document service use and satisfaction.

• Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

 

• Current Personal Training Certification of a major national association (NSCA, ACSM, AFAA, NASM, ACE, ISSA), CPR/AED, and First Aid certified.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Must be at least 18 years of age

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Interest or Field of study related to health and fitness

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

 

Knowledge

 

• Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques.

• Knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles.

• Knowledge of personal fitness training techniques.

• Knowledge of programs and services in the Student Life and Wellness Center.

• Knowledge of methods for promoting and increasing fitness in patrons.

 

Skills

 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey instructions and provide feedback to clients.

• Proficiency in demonstrating exercises and providing clear, concise instructions.

 

Abilities

 

• Ability to facilitate positive fitness.

• Ability to display a positive attitude for all patrons and SLWC staff.

• Ability to establish meaningful relationships.

• Ability to follow policies and procedures, arrive prepared and on time for work, and consistently demonstrate service excellence.

• Capability to analyze clients' progress and adjust programs as needed to ensure continuous improvement.

• Ability to motivate clients.

• Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.
