CHAVEZ FARMS, INC. Farmworkers/Crop Laborers (Temporary) in OREM, Utah
Temporary Need: 03/01/26 - 11/15/26. Twenty (20) full-time, seasonal, temporary Farm Worker/Crop Laborers needed. Requirements: Location: Work will be performed in Orem, Utah. Will work 40 hrs./wk., from 7:00A.M - 4:00P.M, Mon-Fri. Wage is $10.64/hr. Duties:
Workers will be required to keep all property and farm buildings clean. work such as light pruning and removal of pruning's from orchard assist in planting new tree's fruits and vegetables. shoveling, irrigating, hoeing weeds, cleaning ditches, cleaning trucks, harvesting sweet corn, pumpkins, watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables will be assigned on a daily basis. laying and pulling plastic mulch in the field. lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. worker will work in hot, cold and sometimes wet conditions, according to the weather Terms and conditions of employment: The employer will provide to the worker at no charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, equipment required to perform the duties assigned.
A deduction of $1.82 for employer provided housing. Workers will be required to keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean.
The employer will offer free transportation for workers from the employers housing to the daily work site unless the office where the workers report daily to clock in or the designated field to report to is within walking distance. Transportation between worksites during the regular work day is provided free of charge. Once a week, the employer will offer to those workers who wish to participate, free transportation to and from town where there are shopping stores, a post office and pay phone. Workers that do not reside within commuting distance and who are eligible for employer provided housing are also eligible for transportation benefits. The employer will reimburse the worker for the reasonable cost of transportation and subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad to the place of employment, to the employer's location upon completion of fifty percent of the employment period, or earlier. Must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. Applicants that have not worked in crop harvesting during the past twelve (12) months, up to two (2) references will be required. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence ($16.28/day, maximum $68/day with receipts) from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed (or whichever is the highest rate).
