Position Announcement
This position offers the chance to play a meaningful role in supporting lifelong learning at Utah Valley University by ensuring smooth, accurate, and responsive database and customer service operations across Continuing Education programs. As a key point of contact for Community Education, Professional Education, Executive Education, Elder Quest, and ESL, you'll help learners access the classes and resources they need while keeping registration and data processes running efficiently. Your work strengthens the experience of every participant who engages with UVU's diverse continuing education offerings.
With a consistent Monday to Friday schedule from 8 am to 2 pm, this role is well-suited for someone who values both purpose and predictability in their workday. You'll collaborate with a supportive team, build expertise in student-facing systems, and contribute to a welcoming environment for learners of all backgrounds. Summary of Responsibilities
• Helps maintain databases for all courses, including inputting all registration information, course information, images, facilities, costs, and any other needed data within the target dates for major marketing distribution. Works within the Operations team and in collaboration with departments across Continuing Education to ensure timely and accurate input of data and customer support.
• Provides comprehensive customer service to non-credit students and community customers. Registers students into requested courses using current database software, processes payments via the mobile card reader, works with walk-in customers/students, and answers general questions.
• Monitors course enrollments, fill rates, and waitlists. Conveys enrollments to program managers and manages course waitlists in conjunction with program managers.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a directly related field of study; OR a combination of education and experience totaling three years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree in a closely related field AND one (1) year of experience related to the Position Description; OR any combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling two to three (2-3) years.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
• Basic knowledge of HTML and registration databases such as CampusCE and ACEware.
• Knowledge of how to take and process payments securely using mobile card readers.
• Knowledge of email and calendar tools.
• Knowledge of student privacy rights as pertaining to FERPA
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills
• Effective records and information systems organization and management.
• Proficient in data entry with strong typing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and standard office equipment.
• Effective communication skills. Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills with good organization and coordination techniques.
• Manage disputes or dissatisfaction in accordance with policy guidelines.
• T orough understanding of basic computer programs.
