Job Opening:

Environments Health and Safety (EHandS) COORDINATOR

Typical Functions:

• Compliance with environmental law to include air, water and process environmental condition monitoring and reporting.
• Assists with internal environmental policy and procedures.
• Maintains and updates environmentaland safety policy and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain instruments.
• Conduct safety inspections.
• Identifies and appraises conditions which could produce accidents and financial losses.
• Identifying cause and evaluates potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents and recommending correction action.
• Proven experience in Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
• Ability to provide first aid.
• Compiles and analyzes incident/accident data.
• Prepares and formulates reports of their findings submitting required safety reports to company management.
• Directs and coordinates, through supervisory personnel, activities of operations, making sure equipment is in good condition and employees are using correctly.
• Coordinates safety activities of unit managers to ensure implementation of safety procedures throughout company.
• Works under the general direction of the EHandS Director.

Field Work/ Office Work - 50% - 50%

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of the environmental field.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Knowledge of State and Federal regulations relative to safety, health, environment, and workers compensation.
• Good knowledge of shipyard/marine operations or the ability to acquire it in a timely manner.
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to maintain accurate, organized, current records and generate complete and timely reports.
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of employees.

Bi-lingual - Spanish

Unexpired TWIC required

Must pass a pre-employment physical.

Must be able to work in an outdoor environment walking, kneeling, all wearing standard Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. hard hat, life vest, etc.).
