Aerotek Electronics Assembler in Orange, California

Job Title: Electronics Assembler Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Electronics Assembler to join our manufacturing team, specializing in industrial fiber optic communication equipment. This entry-level position will involve working in a shop environment, supporting the production team with various assembly tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts and brackets using screws.

  • Count components for kitting.

  • Communicate effectively, follow directions, and work independently.

  • Use hand tools and small power tools such as screwdrivers, crimpers, wire cutters, and hand drills to make or repair parts and products.

  • Cut and measure wiring and cables.

  • Crimp wires and cables.

  • Interpret technical documents like bills of materials or follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Carry items weighing up to 25 lbs.

  • Collaborate with other team members to assemble products.

  • Prepare materials for assembly, such as deburring metal brackets, assembling metal brackets, and cutting and painting wood.

  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace.

  • Meet all company and industry safety requirements.

  • Identify defective items and handle them according to established procedures.

  • Solve problems using reasoning as they arise.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with hand tools, wiring, assembly, mechanical and electronic assembly, crimping, and power tools.

  • Ability to perform wiring, crimping, and stripping using hand tools and power tools.

  • Follow samples and work off of samples; blueprint and schematic interpretation is a plus.

  • Use various hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly.

  • Work with microscopes and magnifying glasses.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.

  • Skilled in mechanics and operating hand drills, drill presses, table saws, and grinders.

  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods.

  • Good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and color differentiation.

  • Ability to perform moderate or light lifting between 5-25 lbs. and stand or sit for prolonged periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in soldering.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics is a plus.

Work Environment

Work in a 25-30 person manufacturing facility with about 5 people in the assembly department. The position is for the 1st shift, operating from 7am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orange, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
