Golden State Foods – Opelika, AL  

Full-time | Food Manufacturing |

2 nd shift 2:20 pm-12midnight

Paid Weekly

Base pay $ 22 .00 per/hr. + $1.00 shift pay & eligible to earn perfect attendance $2.00 per/hr.

ABOUT THE ROLE  

Join our The Team Lead – Frozen Patty Department (2nd Shift) is responsible for building the capability of their team to deliver against departmental objectives and the master production plan. This role leads through strong execution of work processes, standards, and Daily Management Systems while modeling the GSF Creed and Values .

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING  

Leader Responsibilities

  • Hold team members accountable to execution against standards

  • Ensure all associates receive scheduled breaks and lunch periods while maintaining production run rate

  • Manage the team skills matrix and ensure each associate has an active training and development plan

  • Escalate operational, safety, quality, or people issues appropriately

  • Demonstrate and reinforce the GSF Creed and core values daily

    Essential Functions

  • Drive Daily Management Systems to deliver improved results every shift, every day

  • Ensure all safety, quality, and food safety behaviors and conditions are addressed and resolved quickly

  • Own overall team performance and results

  • Lead effective operational routines including shift hand ‑ offs and shift operations reviews

  • Conduct team meetings and lead culture discussions focused on Creed and Values

  • Maintain and update visual management boards

  • Ensure team members continue to grow in capability and skill

  • Partner with the Line Leader on people management systems (staffing, training, development)

  • Ensure consistent and accurate communication to the team

  • Use problem ‑ solving and root ‑ cause analysis to resolve or mitigate operational issues

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED  

    Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Previous leadership experience in manufacturing or food production preferred

    Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to apply basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in accordance with production documentation

    Language & Communication Skills

  • High level of reading comprehension

  • Ability to write detailed correspondence and documentation

  • Strong communication and problem ‑ solving skills

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Stand and/or walk 8 or more hours per day

  • Constant twisting, turning, talking, and hearing

  • Frequent squatting, bending, reaching, gripping, grasping, and fine motor tasks

  • Occasionally lift up to 60-75 lbs from floor to shoulder height and carry up to 30 feet

  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and color vision

    Environmental & Atmospheric Conditions

  • Constant exposure to damp, wet, humid, and slippery environments

  • Constant work near moving machinery

  • Cold work environment (35–40°F)

  • High noise levels requiring hearing protection

    Machines, Tools, Equipment & Software

  • PPE includes bump cap, hair net, safety glasses, hearing protection, and smock

  • Rubber and cotton gloves

  • Working knowledge of production line equipment

  • Ability to use computers or tablets, including basic software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
