Responsibilities for this Lathe Machinist position include, but are not limited to:

  • The Level 2 Machinist operates multiple 2-5 axis CNC lathe machines simultaneously, which requires machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets, performing inspections and basic preventative machine maintenance such as coolant and lube levels and area cleanliness.

  • Support and complies with the company's Quality System, AS9100, Cardinal Rules of Quality, Cardinal Rules of Safety

  • Following order specifications ensure the machines are running efficiently and effectively

  • Provide daily updates through PCC03 or other tools

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports in order to determine order requirements.

  • Complete documentations accurately in real time during the associated process steps.

  • Competencies include the ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques.

To be considered for this Lathe Machinist position, you should:

  • Must be able to demonstrate intermediate print reading and have experience with common CNC G and M codes, with a basic understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance).

  • Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.

  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.

  • Use overhead cranes and/or forklifts to move parts and rings.

  • Familiarity with all tools and equipment in a machine shop, including drill press, tool grinders, power saws, belt sanders, various measuring tools, shovel, broom, tape readers and punches, etc.

Pay Details: $23.50 to $27.25 per hour
