The Disability Resource Coordinator (DRC) position is defined by the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) and the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration (USDOL ETA), in partnership with the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and the National Disability Institute (NDI). The DRC is a full-time position covering Chenango, Delaware and Otsego Counties. Main office can be either Oneonta or Norwich CDO Workforce. <br> DRCs should have a background in Human Services, Social Work, Special Education, or Vocational Rehabilitation. This is a systems-capacity-building role, not a case management position. The DRC works to improve access and outcomes for individuals with disabilities, including youth, by: <br> <li> Increasing the capacity of Career Centers and career pathway programs to serve individuals with disabilities <li> Identifying and leveraging disability-related partners and resources, including NYSED ACCES-VR and OCFS/NYS Commission for the Blind <li> Advising workforce development systems on inclusive participation in career pathway programs <li> Training LWDBs, Career Center staff, businesses, colleges, and training providers on ADA requirements, accommodations, assistive technology, and assessments <li> Coordinating with career pathway program staff, including career coaches <li> Assisting with recruitment of individuals with disabilities, including Ticket to Work holders, into Career Center services and funded training programs <li> Identifying appropriate career, training, and employment opportunities using assessments <li> Obtaining and maintaining certification to provide SSA benefits advisement and work incentive counseling (SSDI/SSI) <li> Ensuring individuals with disabilities can access necessary Career Center programs and services <li> Supporting the development of sustainability strategies to continue successful initiatives beyond the funding period
<p> Note: As a systems-level role, no more than 50% of the DRCs time should be spent on direct services to job seekers.

<li> Strong belief in the ability and right of individuals with disabilities to work in their communities <li> Bachelors degree required or equivalent experience in a related field <li> 3-5 years experience working with underserved populations <li> Knowledge of equal opportunity and non-discrimination employment laws <li> Knowledge of SSA work incentives and benefits <li> Familiarity with local disability-related agencies and resources <li> Program management experience, including sustainability planning and continuous improvement <li> Strong communication skills with diverse stakeholders <li> Knowledge of job search strategies and ability to teach them <li> Strong computer and digital literacy, including remote meeting facilitation <p>
