Job Summary
Join our team as a Floater Route Driver based in the Omak area. In this role, you'll rotate across various cities in the region, filling in for standard routes and handling cardboard hauls. This position offers more variety than a standard route and is perfect for a driver who enjoys navigating the unique terrain of Okanogan County.
Key Responsibilities
- Float Support: Safely operate and maneuver garbage trucks through residential and commercial areas. Coverage includes Omak, Okanogan, and neighboring municipalities within the county.
- Cardboard Hauls: Independently manage scheduled cardboard collection for commercial customers, ensuring high efficiency.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform essential pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring trucks are fueled, clean, and in safe operating condition.
- Customer Excellence: Act as the face of the company, providing professional and courteous service while providing efficient service to residents or business owners.
- Route Navigation: Utilize route sheets to accurately service every assigned customer, even in unfamiliar territories.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Experience: Minimum 6--12 months of commercial driving experience preferred.
- Physical: Ability to lift 30--60 lbs and mount/dismount the truck frequently throughout the shift.
- Reliability/Dependability: A clean driving record and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
- Adaptability: Ability to work independently and pivot between different cities and equipment types with ease.
